Reiten Toskana Pferd auf Feld und alter Bauernhof

Riding in Tuscany / Italy

Riding is perhaps the most beautiful way to experience the countryside in Tuscany. Even more, if from the back of an exceptional Hanoverian horse. The holiday home Agriturismo Podere Palazzone is home to the riding school Toscana on horseback. It is the only stud farm outside Germany to be a partner stud of the Hanoverian Horse Breeders’ Association, as part of the Experience the Hanoverian programme. Toscana on horseback offers an easy ride out for Italy lovers who are happy to enjoy nature and the gentle swing of a horse’s back. Equally, however, sporty riders will love it. Because to them we offer a more challenging ride out, through steep terrain, with free gallop over meadows and fields.

From Podere Palazzone, the ride out trails lead through typical countryside of Tuscany: rolling hills, aligned vineyards, olive groves and antique farms. Wrapped in the scent of Mediterranean herbs, we ride into one of the beautiful nature parks of Italy, the Foresta di Berignone.  Then, where the river Cecina carved a deep canyon into the rock, rider and horse take a bath in the blue hollows at the Masso delle Fanciulle. Finally, on the ride home, a majestic sunset with a view of the Etruscan city of Volterra, crowns the ride out. What more could a rider’s heart desire?

Riding school

At the Agriturismo Podere Palazzone, 50 meters from the holiday home, there is a 25 x 60 meters riding arena. There we train and teach primarily English riding. Be it in individual or group lessons. Children and adults, beginners, returnees, or professionals are equally welcome. In addition, the trainers teach everything you need to know about the proper horse-friendly handling of horses.

Hanoverian sport horses in Italy

Our horses are Hanoverian sport horses, that guarantee genuine riding pleasure. They come from our own Hanoverian breed. For more than 20 years we have been focusing on values such as rideability, charisma, correct foundation, movement, and sporting attitude. Their education and training are carried out gently without stress. The horses enjoy the privilege of living free in a purely natural environment. Their home is a mixed herd of mares and geldings of all ages in the middle of a pasture with forest areas. Therefore, they develop a balanced character and turn out to be friendly, attentive, motivated, and cooperative partners.

You, too, can enjoy the combination of a wonderful scenery and wonderful horses. Experience nature in its most intimate form during a riding holiday. Become one with the horse and draw strength and serenity from it.
