Italian World Champion Paolo Bettini grew up not far from our hometown Pomarance. He earned his spurs on this asphalt. Hence, he is patron of the Green Fondo Paolo Bettini bicycle race, which is held here every year. The Giro d’Italia passed through Pomarance. As well as the Coast-to-Coast Tirreno-Adriatico. If you you are a road biker, you can ride the Gran Fondo di Pomarance or reach the Maremma via the Colline Metallifere.
