Restaurant Toskana im Ferienhaus Weingläser zum essen

Restaurant in Italy, where Tuscany is still authentic.

Buon Appetito in our little restaurant in Italy! At the Agriturismo Podere Palazzone we serve local specialties of Tuscany, made from our own organic products. Down-to-earth, tasty food prepared with love by Mamma.

A peek into the vegetable garden, an egg hunt in the chicken coop and a stroll through the drying chamber. A handful of fresh herbs or lettuce. Maybe a visit to the farmer’s market. In winter a grab for pickles and preserves. A shot of imagination, respect for food and sincere gratitude. Above all, a lot of dedication. This must have been Grandma’s way of getting back on their feet the tired men of Podere Palazzone when returning from hard work in the fields. Not much has changed to these days.

Typical cuisine of Tuscany

The typical cuisine of Tuscany is unpretentious and close to nature. In brief, it‘s simply delicious! Its world is robust ceramics instead of fine porcelain. That’s why it prefers an old marble tabletop rather than a starched white tablecloth. The meal is accompanied by a fiasco di vino and lively conversation. Local and seasonal, that’s how you eat in Tuscany. Best organic ingredients and the right herbs, plus a few drops of delicious olive oil — that’s authentic Tuscany. Let us introduce you to the essence of Tuscan food during our themed dinners, obviously also with vegetarian option.

Benvenuto-dinner & olive oil tasting

The welcome dinner in our restaurant pays homage to perhaps the most important delicacy Tuscany has to offer: the olive. We start with an olive oil tasting and show you in several courses what this fruit has to offer. We feel committed to the long cultural-historical importance of the olive. In fact, our ancestors in the Neolithic Age, 9000 years ago, were already gathering wild olives. The agricultural cultivation of olives began about 4000 years ago in the Fertile Crescent. We like the legend that Athena, the goddess of wisdom and favourite daughter of Zeus, was involved in this. It is said that she rammed her lance into the ground, from which the first olive branch sprouted. We also like the symbolism of the olive tree as a sign of peace, for example in the UN flag.

Classici of Italy at midweek

In the middle of the week, our restaurant serves the classics of Italy. Indeed, the whole pride of Italy is served up. Famous dishes that are known and loved far beyond Italy’s borders. Such as Spaghetti carbonara or Lasagne. Unfortunately, they are often prepared in a distorted way. We, in contrast, stick strictly to tradition. Simple, Mediterranean cuisine that you can’t say no to. Taste experiences in which our local ingredients are the main protagonists. We serve the dishes as it is customary with family and friends: Not on minimalist decorated plates, but from inviting bowls in the middle of the table. This is the way how you too can share in the authentic dolce vita of Italy in our restaurant.

Arrivederci-dinner Herbs of Tuscany

The farewell dinner is all about kitchen herbs of Tuscany and their diverse uses. From herb bruschetta to sage sorbet, our restaurant offers an introduction into one of Tuscany’s finest natural gifts. After all, what would Italy be without basil? What would Tuscany be without rosemary and thyme? Discover how herbs can add that typical freshness to starters and pasta dishes. Be happy while tasting a roast in a herb crust and stews with a special Mediterranean touch. Finally, let yourself be surprised by our grappa with rue after the meal. So, you may take home with you one or the other gorgeous holiday memory. We are happy to share our recipes with you. Except for the few details that are destined to remain in family hands.
